About the Item

This small oil on board portrait presents a profile of King George III (1738 - 1820). rendered in a simplified yet striking manner typical of vernacular British portrait miniatures of the late Georgian era. In right facing profile, wearing a powdered wig and red military coat adorned with a dark blue sash. Untouched with cracquelure.
