About the Item

Seymour Remenick (1923-1999). An untitled oil on canvas painting of a marine scene with boats and a small dock on an inlet. Likely an Atlantic Seaboard scene from the Southern New Jersey, Maryland, or Delaware coast. Remenick was raised in Philadelphia, was highly acclaimed during his lifetime, and was very active painting marine scenes in this region. His work is held in major private collections and institutions including in the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Smithsonian American Art Museum. Framed in a contemporary gilt wooden frame. Signed to the lower right: REMENICK. Measures: Sight width ca. 17 1/4 in. Sight height: ca. 11 1/2 in. Frame width: ca. 22 1/2 in.
