Absolutely stunning original oil on board landscape by listed artist Martha Eleanor Nicholson Hurst, circa 1950s. Hurst studied under Andrew Wyeth and Olaf Wieghorst and later, John Hilton. The painting depicts a view of snow covered mountains from the desert floor and is most likely in the Coachella Valley of California or the back country of eastern San Diego county. This wonderful piece, which has the look of a photograph, measures 20.5 x 24.5 framed and the painting itself is 12" x 16"; it is signed by the artist in the lower right. The work is presented in a wood carved gold and green frame. #1927
Martha Eleanor Nicholson Hurst was born in Cambridge, OH on April 10, 1913. She studied with Andrew Wyeth and continued with Olaf Wieghorst while living in Sedona, Arizona.
