Suite of 5 framed engravings recounting episodes from the Aeneid, journey of the hero Aeneas after the fall of Troy, according to Virgil * "Ecce trahunt manibus victum post terga simonem": the Trojans capture Sinon, a Greek slave who claims to have been abandoned in offering with the horse before Troy. Mentions "Carac inu" and "Gvc Mitelli" Folds, tears and stains * "At Venus AEnaam certantem ex igne recepit IIII" Venus saves her son Aeneas from the flames: son of the goddess of Love, she will help him throughout throughout the Trojan War and his journey to Italy Mentions "Carac inu" and "Gvc Mitelli" Folds, foxing and stains *Aeneas meets the ghost of Creuse: Aeneas flees Troy carrying his father Anchises on behind him, his wife Créuse follows with their child. Aeneas loses sight of his wife, and returns to Troy to find her, but she has been killed: her ghost appears to Aeneas to predict his next journeys and the search for a new homeland.
