This silkscreen print by Victor Vasarely (1906-1997), titled BABEL 3, is from the Progressions I folio published and printed by Editions du Griffon, Neuchâtel, Switzerland. Founded in Neuchâtel in 1944, the publishing house Éditions du Griffon has made its mark in the history of Swiss art publishing. From Vasarely to Agam, Soto to Gabo, the publishing house has supported the leading exponents of the European visual avant-garde, promoting Swiss typographic expertise worldwide.Victor Vasarely (1906-1997), the inventor of Op Art , was born in Hungary and died in France. He is one of the greatest artists of the 20th century. His name is associated with a real visual revolution, the impact of which can be seen in art, design and the urban landscape.
