Coordinated collection of three Italian sacred wall bas-reliefs created in Florence circa the 1970s and depicting Christ with the Crown of Thorns, the Madonna and Child, and the Holy Family. Each artwork is marked “Creazione d’Arte Fiorentina” and reflects the distinguished Florentine tradition of artistic metalwork and devotional decorative arts. The three compositions are executed in pronounced bas-relief, with carefully modeled faces, drapery and symbolic details. Their surfaces are finished in 925 silver plating and combine polished, satin-finished and textured areas, producing a rich play of light and depth. Selectively gilded details enrich the halos, hair, crowns and decorative accents, while subtle colored finishes appear on the garments of the Virgin Mary. The contrasting silver, gold and softly colored surfaces give the works a refined and luminous appearance. The subjects comprise: Christ with the Crown of Thorns; the Madonna holding the sleeping Christ Child; the Holy Family with the Dove of the Holy Spirit. Each relief is mounted on a rigid support and housed in its original coordinated molded giltwood frame. The matching frames enhance the unity of the collection and allow the three works to be displayed as a horizontal triptych, a vertical arrangement or as individual devotional artworks. Produced during the flourishing period of Italian sacred decorative arts in the 1970s, works of this type were traditionally acquired as prestigious wedding gifts, family heirlooms or devotional furnishings for elegant private residences. All three artworks have never been used or displayed and have remained carefully preserved in their original packaging. Their exceptional state of preservation makes the group particularly attractive as a complete and coherent vintage collection. Suitable for a classic, traditional or classic-contemporary interior, the set would also create a distinctive decorative installation in an entrance hall, bedroom, private study or chapel.
