Continuing this legacy, he creates handmade jewelry that bridges traditional and contemporary Navajo design. His work is known for its intricate hand-stamped geometric patterns, often inspired by Navajo weaving and the natural landscapes of the Navajo Nation. These designs evoke elements such as mountains, water, and eagle feathers, rendered with precision and depth. Working primarily in sterling silver, and sometimes incorporating copper, Secatero’s pieces are both expressive and finely detailed. Born in 1988 near Zuni Pueblo, Secatero began making jewelry at the age of 12 under the guidance of his father, who remains a major influence in his artistic development. His dedication to craftsmanship has earned recognition, including awards such as Second Place at SWAIA in 2019 for his detailed stamping. A devoted family man, Lyle lives with his wife, Rachelle, and their children, and continues to be guided by strong family values. Known for his quiet demeanor, integrity, and deep respect for his craft, he approaches each piece with care and intention, embodying the principle of quality over quantity.
