About the Item

A very fine and impressive vintage 6.85 carat Old European round cut diamond, 1.10 carat ruby and platinum, flower spray brooch: part of our diverse brooch collection. This stunning vintage flower spray diamond brooch has been crafted in platinum. The vintage brooch has been modelled in the form of a floral spray, consisting of two flowers and foliage tied with a ribbon. The two flower heads are each ornamented with a claw set mixed cut natural ruby, encircled by six individually claw set Old European round cut diamonds, varying in size. The ribbon design, securing the platinum stems of the flowers, is embellished with three channel set calibre cut rubies. The brooch is further ornamented with realistically modelled leaves in relief. This impressive platinum vintage ruby brooch secures to the reverse with a hinged pin and locking clasp, in addition to a safety clip and fine link chain. This ruby and diamond brooch is supplied with an independent diamond grading report card. This vintage ruby brooch has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as platinum. NOTE: The Old European cut diamonds and mixed cut rubies displayed in this vintage brooch are circa 1900. It was common practice in the 1940's and 1950's to amalgamate older diamonds and gemstones in such pieces. Images do not always reflect the true colour and brilliance of gemstones and diamonds. The video however provides a truer representation of the actual color and showcases each stone. Condition This vintage brooch is fine quality, set with very high color graded diamonds diamonds and natural rubies. The brooch is in excellent condition and is a very good gauge of platinum.
