These exceptional dangle earrings by Navajo silversmith Rick Martinez showcase remarkable detail and masterful craftsmanship, reflecting a strong command of traditional techniques. Each earring features a teardrop-shaped turquoise cabochon, intricately carved with a flowing wave motif that adds depth and movement to the design. The stones are set within smooth bezels, framed by finely executed hand-braided wire. Surrounding the turquoise is a decorative silver frame adorned with radiating lines, creating a striking sunburst effect. About the Artist Rick Martinez (Navajo) Navajo silversmith Rick Martinez is a highly skilled artisan who has practiced his craft for over 20 years on the New Mexico reservation. Working as a full-time jeweler, he is known for creating distinctive, one-of-a-kind pieces that reflect both tradition and individuality. Martinez frequently incorporates fine natural stones into his work and occasionally applies an antiqued finish to achieve a subtle vintage character. His designs showcase a range of traditional Navajo techniques, including the use of raindrop elements, twisted wire, and intricately stamped and cut motifs. Deeply rooted in his cultural heritage, Martinez continues to honor the traditions of Navajo silversmithing while contributing to its ongoing evolution and inspiring younger generations of Native American artists.
