A fine Victorian garnet, pearl and diamond demi parure, all set with circular cabochon garnets, diamond-set stars to centres and a pearl-set crescents below, and pearl-set drops and surmounts, all mounted in yellow gold with a yellow gold snake chain, original fitted case, circa 1860, the pendant measuring approximately 4.2 x 1.9cm, the chain measuring approximately 40 x 0.3cm, the earrings measuring approximately 4 x 1.7cm, gross weight 37.4 grams. This gorgeous Victorian demi parure comes from the collection of Bentley & Skinner, Jewellers by Royal appointment to His Majesty King Charles III, and features a necklace and a pair of matching earrings. The pendant matches the earrings, featuring a cabochon-cut garnet which is set with a diamond-set star. Below the garnet is a half-moon motif set with pearls. This wonderful set exemplifies High Victorian style and incorporates the celestial motifs that were popular at the time. The diamonds and pearls provide a striking complement to the garnet and the yellow gold. This set would look striking paired with a simple evening gown.
