Finely detailed vintage Art Deco era insect necklace (circa 1920s to 1930s), crafted in 14 karat yellow gold. Pear cut opal measures 7.5mm x 58mm, accented with an estimated 0.10 carat blue sapphire, two 0.01 carat cabochon cut rubies. 1mm seed pearls are set into the wings. The necklace depicts a jewel set insect, with dainty seed pearls set into the wings. Attached to an 18 1/2 inch chain the necklace is great worn alone or layered with your fine jewelry from any era. The necklace is in very good original condition. We have not cleaned the necklace in order to preserve the patina and collector value. Particulars: Weight: 4.5 grams Stones: Pear cut opal measures 7.5mm x 58mm, accented with an estimated 0.10 carat blue sapphire, two 0.01 carat cabochon cut rubies. 1mm seed pearls are set into the wings. Size & Measurements: The necklace measures 18 1/2 inches in length. The insect measures 1 x 3/4 inch. Metal & Hallmark: 14k yellow gold. The necklace is not hallmarked though it has tested positive for 14k gold.
