About the Item

Period: Late 18th century
Top size: 1,8 cm x 1,5 cm
Size: 10
Weight: 17 gr The signet ring is dated around the 1780s and is presumably attributable to Russian manufacture, since the symbols depicted could be associated with a princely family: among these, the initials enclosed within a circle and surrounded by a floral decoration with acanthus leaves stand out in the centre; in the outermost part, however, there are further floral decorations that unfold from a princely crown, placed in the centre to surmount the initials below; to complete the decoration of the ring, made of ancient gilded silver and of which traces still remain today, there is a geometric motif that runs along the upper part of the ring stem.
