About the Item

A fine signed vintage signet style ring. By Peter Lindeman. In 18 karat yellow gold with red and gold enamel. One of Lindeman's so-called 'Turnit' rings having a shield shaped head with a figural bull's head in a red enamel cartouche to one side and a figural bear's head in a blue enamel cartouche to the other. Set in a stylized gold nugget setting. Peter Lindeman was renowned high-end New York jewelry maker and supplied to many jewelers such as Tiffany & Co., Shreve, Crump, & Lowe, & Bailey, Banks, and Biddle. His work is held in important private and public collections (and it's even said that Elvis Presley once owned one of his Turnit rings). Marked to the interior with a tab with Peter Lindeman's maker's mark / 18K / 'Turnit'. (The mark partly obliterated). Simply a wonderful Turnit ring by Lindeman! Date: Mid-20th Century Overall Condition: It is in overall fair, as-pictured, used estate condition. Condition Details: There are losses to the enameling on both the blue and the red on the spinner head. The maker's mark is partly obliterated and there's an etched owner's mark at the base of the shank. Otherwise, there is some light edge wear, some fine & light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age.
