The combination of polished brass, black stone, and paw feet places this table squarely within the tradition of the finest Parisian interior furnishings, and it would integrate seamlessly into both a period grand salon and a boldly conceived contemporary interior. The circular top is inset with a panel of highly polished black granite or black glass — deep, lustrous, and reflective — encased within a brass gallery rim enriched with fine gadrooning or rope-twist detailing, a classically derived ornamental device that elevates the profile of the top and lends crispness to the silhouette. Below, three elegantly swept brass legs curve outward in a lyrate form, terminating in finely cast lion's paw feet — one of the most enduring motifs of the Empire repertoire and a mark of quality in French metalwork.
