Belgravia Urban Gem

Apartment by JKA Design in San Francisco, CA

Our clients were keen to explore a slightly different, more urban lifestyle after raising and launching their two children in San Francisco's Inner Richmond district. However they quickly realized they were not interested in anything too sleek or too modern; they wanted their new residence to also have some character and history.

They ultimately landed in the historic Belgravia, a pre-war, Beaux-Arts style residential apartment building designed by the (then) prominent architect Frederick Herman Meyer on the south slope of San Francisco’s Nob Hill.

The residence features architecturally significant details throughout — gorgeous crown moldings, high ceilings, hardwood floors, a wood-paneled formal Dining Room, and Juliet balconies. JKA Design was engaged to infuse these grand rooms with our signature soulful blend of contemporary, antique and vintage pieces from around the world.

The result is a serenely luxurious layering of rich textures and subtle patterns conveying calmness and elegance within the beating heart of the city. We think it's breathtaking, and our clients love their new home.
