About the Item

This beautiful Lot of Manuscripts by Mario Tozzi to the Countess and patron of arts, Pecci Blunt, between 1936 and 1938, is composed by three items. In details: An Autograph Postcard of greetings Signed. July 19th, 1936 A Tozzi's Buiness Card with autograph notes ( good wishes of a happy Easter). Rome, March 26th 1937. An Autograph Letter Signed. Rome, June 21 1938 (from the postmark. In Italian. In Excellent condition, except for a visible abrasion of the paper on the right margin. Perfectly readable, with original envelope included. A letter of courtesy request. Mario Tozzi (Frossombrone, 1895, Saint-Jean-du-Gard, 1979) In 1926, the Italian painter, Mario Tozzi found again Licini in Paris and came into contact with the Italian avant-garde painters. He founded the "Groupe des Sept" (known as Les Italiens de Paris) with Campigli, De Pisis, Paresce, De Chirico, Savinio and Severini, a group that quickly acquired international fame. He attended the Caffè in Montparnasse and became friends with Zadkine, Giacometti, Gonzales, Fini and Magnelli. Meet Ozenfant, Lurcat, Max Jacob. In 1935, at the time of this letter, Tozzi lived a growing critical succes and continued his intense artistic activity; his artworks were bought by the museums of Grenoble, Paris, Rome, Athens, Berlin, Bern, Budapest, Geneva, Lyon, Mannheim, Moscow, San Paolo. He was awarded with the "Legion of Honor" by the French government. In 1936 he moved to Rome, where he devoted himself to the fresco technique.
