In 1950 in Bolzano, Nino Franchina realizes a new series of sculptures inspired by the dynamism and aesthetics of cars began in a car body shop. The stylistic influence is still attributable to Brâncuși but also to Naum Gabo, and to his brother Anton Pevsner. These works, which take the name of Fuoriserie, Come unereo, Metallurgica, Calandra, Ritmo di Surface, will be presented two years later as part of the Milanese solo show at the Naviglio Gallery and at the XXVI Venice Biennale. The artist who said «The material I love the most is iron. Iron bends very docile; when it is incandescent it has an immense charm, it writhes, flickers, offers itself, dances " is still today known for his bronzes. Nino Franchina, born Antonino Franchina (Palmanova, 1912 - Rome, 1987) Italian artist, draftsman and sculptor knew a european success. In 1949 he exhibited his plaster and stone sculptures at the Pierre Gallery in Paris. In 1953 he participated in the II Biennial of Sculpture in Antwerp and in the Italian and French Abstract Art exhibition at the National Gallery of Modern Art in Rome; in the same year he is at the Kunsthaus in Zurich, at the Junge Italienische Kunst exhibition. In 1955 he participated in the Ier Salon de la Sculpture Abstraite at the Galerie Denis René in Paris; and then to Madrid and Alexandria in Egypt.
