About the Item

Jeanine Donkers Memento 80 x 60 cm ( framed included in price) Measurement with included frame: 88 x 68 cm Oil on wood panel Jeanine Donkers' paintings offer a world filled with familiar elements, while also revealing a magical or esoteric realm. Developing this unique and personal style required deep self-reflection, as she explains. Her emotions and thoughts are mirrored in her artwork, inviting the viewer into her inner world. She writes about her work: "The human psyche has always fascinated me. I wonder what drives people to make certain choices and what occupies their minds and hearts. Reflecting on my own inner world is what drives me to paint it.
My focus lies in portraits and figures, blending realism with fantasy or abstraction. Together, they create a surreal whole that reflects a particular state of mind—an inner world, often raw and unfiltered. Through this, I see the strength of people and their potential for growth."

By Daniela Astone

Italian artist Daniela Astone lives and works in Florence. She enjoys working with live models and paints her works from observation, the classical approach she learned at the Academy in Florence and which she now teaches to her students. Daniela Astone graduated in 2004. She had her first solo exhibition shortly afterwards in the United States. Since then, the international attention of the Italian artist has only grown. The classical structure and narrative paintings show a technique that is special. Her style is virtuoso and her subjects are narrative. The keys are loose and subtle. Standing in front of a painting means watching...

Perched #3 - original realist oil painting-contemporary wildlife art

This exceptional artwork is currently on display and available for sale at Signet Contemporary Art Gallery and online. In Perched #3, Elizabeth Rickert focuses on a single bird resting gracefully atop a stack of timeworn books, creating a moment of quiet observation. Painted in oil on canvas, the artwork combines the precision of wildlife realism with the calm structure of a traditional still-life composition. The bird appears alert yet relaxed, its presence bringing a sense of gentle movement to the otherwise still arrangement. Rickert’s brushwork carefully captures the fine details of the bird’s plumage and the textures of the aged book covers beneath it. Each book feels tactile and familiar, their worn edges and subtle lettering suggesting years of stories and history. The simplicity of the composition allows the viewer to focus on the delicate balance between subject and setting. The colour palette is warm and earthy, with soft reds, mossy greens, muted blues and warm ochres appearing throughout the stacked books. The bird’s feathers introduce striking accents of dark charcoal and glowing orange, providing a vivid focal point within the otherwise calm composition. Executed in oil on canvas, this original artwork highlights Elizabeth Rickert’s talent for combining wildlife realism with intimate storytelling. This original work is available for sale at Signet Contemporary Art and online. Artist Biography: Elizabeth Rickert is an award-winning contemporary realist artist based in the United States whose work is inspired by the quiet poetry of the natural world. Originally trained as a sculptor, she began her artistic career working in ceramics before expanding into drawing and painting. Over time, she explored pastels and eventually transitioned to oil painting, which has become her primary medium. Elizabeth’s background in sculpture continues to influence her artistic approach. Even as a painter, she observes nature with a sculptor’s eye—carefully studying the interplay of shape, form, light, and shadow. This sensitivity to structure and atmosphere is reflected in her compositions, which often feature detailed impressions of birds...
