About the Item

Titled the 'Sundance Series', these artworks are a development of traditional landscape photographs and they have created a unique perspective as if captured through a telescope or a porthole. Photographed in California, Arizona and Utah these were the shooting locations of many Hollywood Western films, 36 Westerns were shot in the Movie Road area alone. The artwork has a dreamy cinematic feel. This artwork is a limited edition of 25, gloss photographic print, dry-mounted to aluminium, presented in a museum board white window mount and a box frame made professionally in the UK. Client may choose the frame colour on purchase either Black (oak) or White (beech). It its singed and numbered on reverse, accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. This is available in three other sizes, 24"x24", 30"x30" 38"x38" or can be requested in a bespoke size to suit your interior design needs. They also look beautiful purchased with other artworks in the Sundance Series. Richard Heeps’ seductive, highly saturated colours and sophisticated pictorial structures demonstrate a true love and empathy for his subject matter – be it cool, descriptive interiors, still life, portrait or landscape. His distinctive style pushes the limits of lens-based photography without the need for digital manipulation. He runs his own darkrooms in Cambridge (UK) where he hand prints his colour photography. His work has been exhibited in Museums and Public Galleries around England, and he has participated in Art Fairs around the world, and his work is now part of many international collections.

Influenced by a number of photographic peers and precursors such as Candida Höfer, Andreas Gursky, Thomas Struth, Jeff Wall, Michael Wolf, Gregory Crewdson, William Eggleston and Joel Sternfeld, Schott's images successfully blend technical, conceptual and formal rigor with a decisive sense of composition and color.
