About the Item

This antique Japanese Tobacco Box, complete with drawers, a kiseru, is a captivating piece of history. The warm hew of the elm is telling a story of time. The box showcases authentic metal fittings that narrate the rich journey of being well-loved and repurposed over time. The intricate wood grain, aged over a century, imparts a genuine warmth to this collectible, making it a truly heartening and valuable addition. Included in this antique set is an antique kiseru ((煙管)), housed in a box crafted from high quality zelkova wood. The box is with the original body, fixings and drawers. The top lid is made from one plank, and it’s a later edition. This box is in our possession since 2014 acquired directly from Japan; this beloved piece has been preserved by our restoration team in London, undergoing waxing and wood preservation. Despite being a century old, it remains in excellent condition, a testament to the care and attention bestowed upon it.
