The frame is stamped “Tirso Cuevas”, identifying one of the well-known Oaxacan tinsmiths who collaborated with Morales during the 1980s–1990s on his collage-mounted works. About the Artist Rodolfo Morales is widely regarded as a pillar of modern Mexican art, alongside Rufino Tamayo and Francisco Toledo. Born in Ocotlán de Morelos, Oaxaca, he developed a unique language of floating figures, vivid color, and architectural reminiscence grounded in Mexican folklore. His collages, in particular, display an extraordinary fusion of surrealist sensibility and vernacular craft traditions, incorporating lace, tin, antique paper, textiles, and devotional materials. Morales’ works are held in major private and public collections worldwide and continue to command strong interest among collectors of Latin American Modernism, Magical Realism, and Oaxacan art.
