Ruggero Vanni's Ver Vernat (Spring Swirls) is a 62 x 84-inch abstract gestural oil painting. It is an abstract landscape of vigorous brushstrokes and light, with a luminous central focus. The primary colors are purple and blue. There are explicit references to the masters of the Hudson River School, also known as Luminism, and the Romantic paintings of English artist William Turner.
