About the Item

This exceptional Murano glass centerpiece by Flavio Poli for Seguso Vetri d'Arte is a striking example of the Sommerso glass technique that made Poli one of the most celebrated Murano designers of the postwar period. The elongated sculptural form showcases dramatic layers of cobalt blue, vivid green, and acid yellow, suspended within crystal clear Murano glass. In natural sunlight the colors become almost fluorescent, revealing the extraordinary depth and brilliance of the Sommerso technique. Indoors the palette becomes softer and more subtle, giving the piece a completely different yet equally elegant character. The flowing organic silhouette allows it to be appreciated from every angle. Whether displayed as a sculptural centerpiece, placed on a console or coffee table, or used as a fruit bowl, it immediately becomes the focal point of the room. This large Murano glass centerpiece perfectly illustrates Flavio Poli's mastery of color, form, and light. A rare and highly collectible example of Italian Murano glass from one of the most influential designers of the twentieth century.
