Heading : Tunbridge ware sewing basket with cubework design Date : c1875 Period : Victoria Origin : Tunbridge Wells, Kent Decoration : Central perspective cubework design with geometric border. Side panels with floral banding and dentil stringing. Size : 24.7cm diameter, 16cm height Condition : There is a crack running accrossthe base which is faintly visible through the cubework. Otherwise excellent. Restoration : None Weight : 176 grams Certainly designed by Thomas Barton, most likely from his early period of independence.
