Spectacular bronze sculpture, late 19th century, by the Italian artist Francesco de Matteis (1852-1917), "Group of Children Playing." This outstanding sculpture depicts, with extraordinary realism, a playful scene featuring three mischievous young boys, dressed in various period costumes, ready to unleash their imaginations in the amusing reenactment of their street adventures. It rests on an asymmetrical bronze base with relief and vegetal motifs simulating a wooded and wild landscape.
