This is a good quality coffee can that we attribute to the Coalport Porcelain works, Shropshire, England, made during the John Rose period of the George 111rd years, circa 1805-1810. The coffee can is nominally parallel, tapering slightly to the base, with a simple loop handle with one lower kink and pointed attachments. It has a shallow foot recess with obtuse corner and is unmarked to the base. The pattern is beautifully hand painted in an all gold gilt floral upper border pattern with further gilding on the body above the base rim, around the upper rim and to the outer handle. This is a porcelain blue and white, hand gilded Sucrier (Sugar Bowl) in the Broseley printed pattern made by Miles Mason (Mason's), Staffordshire Potteries, in the early 19th century, circa 1810. This piece is well potted with a lovely shape and twin side handles, but no lid. The sucrier is decorated in the under-glaze blue printed Pagoda or Broseley, chinoiserie Willow pattern, (sometimes called Boy at the Door pattern). There is hand gilded detail around the mid body, upper rim and on the handles. This piece is marked with the under-glaze printed mock Chinese seal...

This is a porcelain blue and white, gilded Coffee Can made by Miles Mason (Mason's), Staffordshire Potteries, in the early 19th century George 111rd period, circa 1805-1810. The piece is well potted with vertical flutes, a slightly wavy rim and the loop handle with the distinctive thumb rest spur. The can is decorated in the under-glaze blue printed Pagoda or Broseley, chinoiserie Willow pattern, (sometimes called Boy at the Door pattern). The piece is also richly gilded in Miles Mason pattern 50 as illustrated on Page 78 of the book; Miles Mason Patterns and Shapes, produced by the Mason's Collectors' Club. The coffee can is also hand gilded around the rims and on the outer handle. The piece is fully marked to the base with an under-glaze blue printed square seal mark (pseudo Chinese) as illustrated on page 92 of the above publication. This is a rare and early stone China (Ironstone) mug which dates to the George 111 period, circa 1815 made by the Davenport factory of Longport, Staffordshire Potteries, England. The mug is straight sided similar to a coffee can and has a loop handle with an upper thumb rest. The pattern is number "659", which is one of Davenport's very few chinoiserie patterns. The bold pattern features striking polychrome enamels of rocks and different flowers all in the Chinoiserie style, hand painted over-glaze in different colours over an under-glaze blue printed outline. The pattern is embellished with good hand gilding. There is also a deep border pattern to the inside rim which replicates the outer mug pattern with sprigs of hand painted flowers. The mark on the base of the mug is Godden's 1183, a blue printed DAVENPORT STONE CHINA...

The coffee can is nominally parallel, with a loop handle having one lower kink, characteristic of the Spode handle. It has a fairly deep foot recess with obtuse corners and is unmarked to the base. The pattern is one of Spode's transfer printed floral leaf designs in a burnt orange colour around the upper border, all between gold gilt rings with a further gold gilt ring just above the base and hand gilding to the outer handle.
