A fine and impressive antique George V English sterling silver galleried tea tray; an addition to our antique silver teaware collection. This fine antique George V sterling silver tea tray has a rounded navette shaped form. The surface of the tray is plain and unembellished. The flared galleried border is embellished with pierced arch and vertical pale decoration accented with circular motifs to the elevating ends. The upper rim of the hallmarked galleried border is ornamented with a band of applied reed decoration. This impressive sterling silver tea tray incorporates a plain oval inset handle to either end, accented with a portion of pierced angular decoration to the nadir. This rare piece was made in Birmingham England, circa 1890-1900 by the maker's and silversmiths of Daniel & Arter. This set was retailed in America by the Bailey Banks & Biddle, a luxury company based in Philadelphia and New York City. Bailey Banks & Biddle Bailey Banks & Biddle is an American jewelry firm that formed in 1832 and quickly became a recognized leader in jewelry fashion. The firm developed a reputation for offering high quality, well-designed jewelry as evidenced by its commissions to design the first 40,000 Purple Hearts for the United States military as well as to create the Naval Academy and West Point class rings. Bailey Biddle & Banks, was originally known as Bailey & Kitchen. Was founded at 136 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia, on September 20, 1832, by Joseph Trowbridge Bailey and Andrew B. Kitchen. This makes Bailey Banks & Biddle the Oldest Nationwide Jeweler in America and quickly became a recognized leader in the jewelry fashion. A magnificent, fine and impressive pair of antique Georgian English sterling silver wine coolers made by Paul Storr; an addition to our antique wine and drink related silverware collection These magnificent antique George III sterling silver wine coolers have a classic campania shaped form onto a plain knopped pedestal and domed circular spreading foot. The surface of the upper portion of each body is plain and embellished with two large applied tied oak leaf wreath cartouches, one side bears the contemporary bright cut engraved coat of arms* depicting a pile engrailed with three cross-crosslet fitchy, all surmounted with the crest displaying a cock's head. The second cartouche on each holder bears the contemporary bright cut engraved presentation inscription 'Given to William Rigden, In Remembrance of William Galdork, by W.H.B'. These silver wine bottle holders each have an applied moulded decorated border to the flared rim. The lower bulbous portion of each wine cooler is encompassed with exceptional chased fluted decoration below an applied ribbed border. Each wine cooler is supported by a domed circular spreading foot embellished with a chased egg decorated border and a plain collet style rim. This exceptional pair of Georgian wine coolers were crafted by the renowned and important London silversmith Paul Storr. * This coat of arms pertains to the Rigden/Rigdon family. An exceptional, fine and impressive large antique Victorian English sterling silver christening mug; part of our silver christening collection This antique Victorian silver christening mug has a circular, subtly tapering rounded form onto a circular spreading foot. The body of the mug is embellished with exceptional embossed and chased decorated angel/putto* head designs, accented with wing motifs to the nadir. The body of this large mug is further ornamented with large ribbon bow motifs and floral festoons, encompassing the aforementioned portrait designs, all within an arabesque band and matte background. The decoration to the body incorporates a vacant shaped cartouche to the anterior. The lower portion of this Victorian silver christening mug is encompassed with a plain applied girdle, above further chased floral designs within a shaped-scalloped border. This mug is fitted with a cast silver angular handle with leaf decorated bifurcating terminals, in addition to impressive ribbon and leaf ornamentation to the upper portion of the handpiece. A magnificent, fine and impressive, large antique Edwardian English sterling silver cup & cover; an addition to our antique presentation silverware collection. This magnificent and large antique Edwardian sterling silver presentation cup and cover has a Campania shaped form onto a circular spreading pedestal foot. The lower bulbous portion of the silver cup is encircled with chased fluted ornamentation. Either side of the plain upper portion of the body of this cup is embellished with an exceptional and large applied ribbon tied laurel branch wreath, replicating the border of a classic cartouche. This impressive Edwardian presentation cup retains the impressive, original hallmarked push fit cover surmounted with an exceptional, fine and impressive cast sterling silver overlapping leaf and bud style finial. The rim of this substantial cover is encompassed with an impressive applied egg and dart decorated border. This antique cup and cover is fitted with two very impressive cast sterling silver handles modelled in the form of conjoined snakes, above a figural mask and Caduceus. The pedestal is encompassed with a shaped alternating leaf decorated knop to the upper portion in junction with the body. The circular domed spreading foot is encircled with a further band of chased fluted ornamentation. Such large examples are becoming increasingly difficult to locate. An exceptional, fine and impressive antique George VI English sterling silver and enamel three piece dressing table set; part of our silverware collection. This impressive antique George V sterling silver and enamel dressing table set consists of a hand mirror, hair brush and clothes brush. Each piece of this ladies dressing table set is embellished with an exceptional panel of white guilloche enamel, accented with a repetitive blue geometric diaper pattern with gold lobed motifs to each incurve. The sterling silver body of each piece is embellished with embossed scrolling leaf designs to the upper and lower portions. The antique hand mirror and hair brush have an arched shaped form to a rounded handle; each piece bears further scrolling leaf ornamentation to the lower corners of the arched sections. The handles of the hair brush and hand mirror are ornamented with an impressive panel of solid blue guilloche enamel. The rounded sides and anterior surface of this impressive mirror are plain and unembellished. The mirror retains its original shaped bevelled glass. The clothes brush has an elongated oval shaped form, with a sterling silver hallmarked handle. Each brush bears the engraved markings 'Pure Bristle' and retains the original authentic horse hair bristles. Condition: This antique enamel dressing table set is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. Each piece has been has been professionally polished. The horse hair bristles to the brushes are in exceptional condition and have seen little sign of use or wear. The enamel panels are in perfect condition. Full hallmarks struck to the rim of each brush and surface of the mirror are very clear; the hallmarks to the mirror have wear in keeping with age and location but remain legible.
