About the Item

The bookmark is in very nice condition showing only age appropriate minor wear/scratching. There is a lovely patina to the bookmark. . The bookmark measures approximately 1 7/8" x 2 5/8". The maker's mark, GORHAM STERLING 70 is on the back of the bookmark. Please take the time to view the photos as they are part of the description. A little about Gorham: Gorham Silver was founded in Providence, Rhode Island in 1831 by Jabez Gorham in partnership with Henry L. Webster. In 1905 they opened a sales office on Fifth Avenue in New York City that was designed by the very famous architect Sanford White. In 1967 the company was purchased by Textron. Gorham was owned by Brown Forman Corporation from 1991 to 2003. It was then sold to Department 56 in the Lenox holding transaction.
