This rare lamp features a very thick molded glass shade with a bold and highly stylized geometric Art Deco pattern, emblematic of Cazaux’s collaboration with Degué. The glass displays outstanding depth and clarity, showcasing the technical mastery of French Art Deco glassmaking. The lamp is supported by a superb hand-wrought iron base, perfectly complementing the sculptural quality of the shade. Considered among the finest productions by Degué, this piece is in excellent condition: No chips No cracks No repairs A fine glass thread, inherent to the manufacturing techniques of the period, is visible and documented (see photo). This is not a defect but a characteristic of authentic early 20th-century molded glass. The lamp is professionally rewired for your country (US, UK, EU, etc.) and is compatible with LED bulbs. A museum-quality example of French Art Deco lighting, ideal for collectors of Degué glass, Edouard Cazaux designs, and 1920s decorative arts. About Degué and Edouard Cazaux Degué was the artistic name of David Guéron (1892–1950), an enigmatic and influential figure in French Art Deco glass. Born in Turkey to Spanish Jewish parents, Guéron settled in France after serving in the French Foreign Legion during World War I. Following the success of the 1925 Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes in Paris, he established his glassworks in Compiègne, later opening Verrerie d’Art Degué in Paris. Degué became renowned for his innovative cameo glass, internally decorated vessels, sandblasted monochrome designs, and dramatic lighting fixtures.
