Stunning and highly decorative Art Deco alabaster table lamp with a wonderful stylized angelfish design. This early 20th century table lamp is one of those charming and artistic pieces that immediately brings warmth, character and atmosphere to a room. It is entirely made of beautifully veined alabaster and the combination of the sculptural angelfish, the curved upright back panel and the stepped base makes this a truly decorative work of art. At the heart of the design is a beautifully stylized alabaster angelfish. Its tall, flat body, graceful sweeping fins and small red glass eye make it instantly recognizable, while also giving the lamp that elegant, playful and highly decorative character that makes Art Deco design so loved. What makes this lamp extra special is the way the alabaster comes to life when the light is switched on. The creamy white, honey-colored and darker grey-black veins become much more visible and create a warm, almost sunset-like glow behind the angelfish.
