About the Item

These armchairs are by the French designer Claude Vassal and date from the 1950s, originally designed for Magasins Pilotes. The frame is made of fiberglass covered in a thick blue fabric. They have been refurbished: the foam and fabric have been replaced. For shipping, the structure can be removed. This French designer, a student of Louis Sognot, graduated top of his class from the Boulle school in 1950. He joined his father, Marcel-Henri Vassal, for the launch of the Magasins Pilotes, spaces dedicated to the creations of the greatest designers of that era: André Monpoix, Pierre Guariche, Pierre Cruège, Jacques Hitier…
