About the Item

Designed by Theo Ruth, this Congo Chair was produced for Artifort furniture in the 1950s. This single chair has been reupholstered in a period-appropriate box-weave wool tweed. Please see the detail images of the fabric in the listing. The solid wood base is unaltered and remains in the original wood and finish. This chair is in excellent condition with no wear on the legs or base. Please note, when the item was reupholstered, the three button original look was replaced with a single center button tuft on the back rest which is a departure from the original design. The price reflects this accordingly.
