About the Item

Late 19th c. hardwood cabinet. The most perfect proportions and condition. Interior was customized at some point with custom shelving that is very secure and sturdy. Bottom two drawers were replace with solid wood at some point in the early 20th c. Construction includes original square nails which serve as verification of age, along with the solid boards used and surface patina that has developed with natural age. There is one trim piece missing at the right side and there is no key. The left side "locks" with simple interior wood "thumb locks" that hold the left door in place. The right door closes snugly. The boards are American walnut and feature dark rich grain, and of course the most charming aspect of the cabinet are the scallops that run across the front cornice. They're absolutely beautiful, simple and add all the character a space could ever need.
