About the Item

A fantastic, highly decorative Georgian Chinoiserie style breakfront cabinet in two sections attributed to Karges. The upper half features a finely detailed crown with gilt leaf tessellations, beveled borders, and a band of relief depicting a galloping deer in nature. Glass paned double door cabinet with a geometric overlay open to a vibrant blood orange painted interior of shelves. The lower half sports a black lacquered finish with double cabinet doors detailed with large, ornate depictions of proudly posed birds in gilt and red. A beautifully crafted and finely detailed piece. Dimensions: 49.75” wide by 17” deep by 86.5” high. Condition: Please see detail photos. The back of the lower section has a panel that can be removed. The cabinet was likely used as a media cabinet at one point and there is a later retro-fitted swivel board for TV in the base. Additionally the upper section would benefit from being better secured to affix to the lower half. Please review the pictures as they are a part of the condition report.
