Sourced in Provence, France, this mid-19th century Louis Philippe commode is veneered in richly figured walnut and retains its original white Carrara marble top with clipped front corners. The façade is defined by exceptional bookmatched crotch walnut veneer, creating a dramatic cathedral grain that flows seamlessly across all four drawers. Its restrained silhouette, molded cornice, and classic turned Louis Philippe feet embody the timeless elegance of the period while allowing the natural beauty of the walnut to take center stage. The commode features four dovetailed drawers, including a shallow upper drawer above three full-width drawers, offering generous storage for clothing or household linens. It retains its original escutcheons, working locks, and a working key. The original Carrara marble provides a durable and elegant surface that beautifully complements the warmth of the walnut below.
