About the Item

Floating wall-mount credenza attributed to Dutch Mid-Century designer Martin Visser features a striking contrast between a dark wenge frame and three crisp white sliding panel doors. Behind the doors, the interior is fitted with a mix of wood and glass shelves alongside inner drawers, providing versatile storage. A concealed flip-top door opens to reveal a dedicated record player compartment — a practical and considered detail that speaks to the design priorities of the period. Martin Visser was one of the Netherlands' most significant postwar furniture designers, working closely with manufacturer Spectrum from the late 1950s onward. His work is characterized by clean geometry, high-quality material combinations, and functional intelligence — qualities well represented in this piece. The unit is believed to have been custom-ordered and installed, and may have originally formed part of a larger modular wall system, which was a common configuration in Dutch interiors of the 1960s and early 1970s. Condition is good overall, with some visible wear consistent with age and use.
