An early American 19th century pine plantation desk with nicely aged patina. Born in the Mid-Atlantic region / Southern United States, circa 1800s, hand-crafted of solid pine wood with mellow warm tone and rich grain patterns, one-piece construction, having a stepped molded cornice above a tall pair of paneled cabinet doors, opening to reveal an interior fitted with shelves and divided slots for documents, plank boarded back with old metal patch, over a lift-top writing slope with spacious storage underneath, the apron adorned with simple decorative pilasters and reeded molding, rising on sturdy turned legs. Dimensions: (approx) 74" High, 32" Wide, 29.5" Deep Having the ideal size and proportions for a variety of different uses, including as a country writing desk, rustic farmhouse kitchen cupboard, bookcase secretaire, general store shopkeepers work table, and more. Great original antique condition. Presents well. Strong, sturdy and stable. Mellow patina. Typical age appropriate wear and antique character. Delivered cleaned, waxed with polished hand rubbed French patina finish if requested, ready for immediate use and generational enjoyment!

A rare antique, circa 1810, classic American country mahogany bookcase secretary desk from the east coast region of Pennsylvania / Virginia. Born in the early 19th century, hand-crafted of solid mahogany, having wonderfully aged warm, rich patina over the whole. Presents splendidly, with fine high quality handmade detail work throughout, including pegged joinery, dovetail bracket feet, and original keys included. Two-piece, the upright top section having shaped moulded cornice above a pair of paneled cabinet doors that open to shelves on each side. A slanted middle with hinged door that folds down into a writing desk work table supported by pull out beams that are concealed within the piece when not in use. Behind the drop-front door are thirteen various sized drawers with original patinated brass knob pulls. The lower half of the secretary is essentially a chest of drawers, fitted with three large long graduated drawers that offer generous storage space. Decorated with a shaped skirt, rising on hand-cut dovetailed bracket feet.
