About the Item

A very fine 19th Century well figured rosewood marble top console table, stunningly hand carved, of exceptional quality with beautifully rich patination, fine grain and with gorgeous marquetry inlaid detail throughout. The striking moulded Carrara White marble top of rectangular form with reeded border edge is raised over a simple single drawer frieze adorned to the centre with an exquisite marquetry panel depicting a circular cabochon with flower head detail flanked with an arrangement of bell husks, foliate, scroll and anthemion motifs. Supported above a fitted mirror glass plate back to the rear and a pair of elegantly tapering cabriole legs with delicate inlaid scroll, foliate, bell husk and flowerhead detail to the fore, terminating on paw foot and concave platform plinth base. Rosewood Type: 'Dalbergia Latifolia'
