About the Item

Antique Bar Harbor wicker table with side pockets and lower shelf in deep espresso brown, circa 1915. Unique table featuring a solid frame with a painted wooden tabletop, a lower rattan tier with a galleried edge and flared magazine compartments in the classic Bar Harbor manner of pairing heavy braided edging with open diamond lattice weave, raised on wrapped splayed legs terminating in pineapple style feet. Emerging from the elite summer resort town of Bar Harbor, Maine, this table reflects the style shift of the time toward a more relaxed, coastal aesthetic. This is a high-quality, beautifully designed table with an engaging blend of textures and visual interest that could be used throughout the home for a variety of purposes.
