About the Item

A fine convertible white gold & multi-gemstone brooch / pendant. In 18 karat white gold. In the form of a kingfisher bird. The wing with a carved chrysoprase pear cabochon, the head with a carved amethyst and carved mother-of-pearl, the tail with a carved carnelian, the eye with a natural pink ruby cabochon, and with 24 pave-set, round brilliant cut diamonds to the body and branch. Marked to the reverse. Set with both a pendant bail and a pin with trombone clasp to the reverse. Accompanied by a GEMLAB (Gemological Appraisal Laboratory) report no. GAL202508498. Simply a wonderful brooch! (Chain for display purposes and not included with purchase.) Date: 20th Century Overall Condition: It is in overall fair, as-pictured, used estate condition. Condition Details: There is a small crack to the amethyst, a flake to the edge (at the bird's shoulder) of the chrysoprase cabochon, and traces of glue visible to the reverse of the chrysoprase cabochon. Otherwise, there are some fine & light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age. Marks: Marked to the reverse of the head for SK750 / R006 / D032. Fineness: Marked 750 for 18k gold fineness.
