About the Item

This Venetian-style Murano glass tazza was created in Italy circa 1950 and displays the decorative elegance associated with mid-century Venetian glassmaking. The shallow bowl is raised on a concave pedestal foot and framed by a pair of sculptural double handles, creating a refined classical silhouette. Executed in translucent green Murano glass, the body is enriched with delicate gold polveri inclusions that shimmer throughout the surface when illuminated. The undulating rim adds movement and lightness to the form, while the clear sparkling handles, also infused with gold inclusions, provide a striking contrast to the green bowl. The combination of traditional Venetian decorative motifs and skilled glassworking techniques gives the piece an ornamental quality that makes it equally suitable as a display object, jewellery dish, trinket bowl, or centrepiece accent. Although unsigned, the design, materials, and manufacturing techniques are consistent with examples attributed to Salviati and other leading Murano glasshouses of the period. Condition: Very good vintage condition. One area where a handle joins the bowl displays an internal fracture visible within the glass, attributed to the manufacturing and firing process. No chips, cracks, or other damage. Dimensions: Height: 6.5 cm (2.56 in) Width: 16.5 cm (6.50 in) Diameter: 12 cm (4.72 in)
